The Amazing Contrast Between Pencil Drawing and Real Photos by Ben Heine

Belgian artist Ben Heine has been shooting photos and sketching almost since he was 10 years old. This post images collection is nothing but the outcome of numerous years of graphic discovery and a logic effect of his creative and inspired evolution, states Ben. But the true idea came while he was watching TV and composing a letter at the same time couple of weeks ago.

Ben reiterates: "Reading my letter prior to putting it in the envelope, I saw in transparency the TV behind the paper. I then noticed it would be wonderful to make something similar in a single image displaying 2 distinct activities. I went outside and sketched “Pencil Vs Camera 1″ which is very simple and shows 2 chairs with a small table. About 1/4 of the scene is displayed on the paper, the other 3/4 occurs on the photo.

So this is roughly how the project started out. In my other “Pencil Vs Camera” combination of illustrations and photos, I attempted to introduce strange components on the paper (such as dinosaurs, ufo’s, double pair of eyes…) to form a contrast with the realistic look of the photo."
